Publishing your videos to your course media gallery is optional. It’s up to you if you want your videos to be available to everyone in the course gallery. A great example would be if you are teaching a public speaking class and you want your students to publish their speech videos to the course so your students could watch each other’s videos in the Course Media Gallery.
